Do you have any cool family recipes or favorite food items? If so what are they? I personally love chocolate brownies with powdered sugar and strawberries!
Mini Chocolate Lava Cakes
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 stick butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
butter cooking spray
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
8 strawberries, cut into slices- optional
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Microwave the chocolate and butter in the bowl for 2-3 minutes or until melted. Stir in vanilla.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt. Sift these into the chocolate and mix well with electric hand mixer. Add eggs one at time, fully incorporating each egg before adding the next. Beat at high until batter is creamy and lightens in color, approximately 4 minutes. Chill mixture for at least 2 hours.
Coat the top and each cup of the muffin tin with cooking spray. Dust with the cocoa powder and shake out excess. Spoon mixture into pan using a 4-ounce scoop or ladle. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes. Outsides should be cake-like and centers should be gooey. To remove: flip over tin onto a hard surface covered with wax paper. Top with strawberries.
*If serving, melt ½ cup of semisweet chocolate chips and then drizzle over muffins; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
This is about the candy snack for humans, not dogs.
What’s the best way to make it? The recipe I have says to melt the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter together. How long should I melt them when using a microwave?

I prefer Mrs. Grass’s Chicken Noodle Soup, the noodles aren’t big and no chunks of chicken in it. Hits the spot. Not sure if many people have ever heard of it though.
No salt no sugar no dressing just natural food put together! Its ok if the food is natural but blended or crush or something
Spaghetti SAUCE:
10 roma tomatoes, crushed (Romas are great for sauces!)
1 carrot, cooked and pureed
1 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced (optional)
1t. freshly chopped oregano leaves
1t. black pepper (a natural item)
1 T. Mrs. Dash..all natural
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and simmer on low for about 20 mins. This can also be cooked in the crock pot on LOW for about 2 hrs. Serve over whole wheat noodles or baked chicken.
My dream is to open a comfort food/home cooking restaurant and am looking for ideas. I want breakfast/lunch/dinner and dessert recipes!
World’s Best Lasagna - Now that is great comfort! =)
INGREDIENTS
1 pound sweet Italian sausage
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (6.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 lasagna noodles
16 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
…DIRECTIONS
1.In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
2.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
3.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
4.To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
5.Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
If you’re like me, when you’re stoned you crave food. Also known as munchies. So what do you much on? Some people have traditional foods, some like different textures. Let me know what you like to eat. And if you have any unique recipies. My buddy, for example, loves peanutbutter on crackers when he’s high.
i’ve always blown people away with my talk of stoner casserole. it’s any combination of food items put together with the intention of "super-izing the ingredients somehow, by marrying tastes and textures. like if you got fritoes, and cheese, and ramen noodles, you can put them all together and bake them in the oven till the cheese browns on top, YUMYUM.or ice cream topped with four microwaved snickers bars, and a handful of blenderized honeyroasted peanuts too.
I have two dogs that I am considering feeding a natural/fresh food diet rather than store bought dog food but have no idea how to start. I want them to get all the appropriate nutrients and need to know appropriate serving sizes. One of the boys is a 105lb. Chocolate Lab. The other is a 52lb. Lab/Saluki mix. I would really appreciate answers from vetrinarians or other dog care professional who are familiar with the nutritional needs of these breeds.
The ultimate food would be a whole carcass but a ‘frankenprey’ diet of meat, meaty bones and organs is nearly as good.
I have been raw feeding for several years and my animals eat a variety of foods; beef, lamb, chicken, fish (fresh and tinned), goat, pork, kangaroo etc. If you aim to feed about 2/3 muscle/meat (including heart) and the rest a combination of meaty bones and organs like brains, liver and kidney over the course of a week or two then your dogs (ALL BREEDS) will get all the nutrients they need. The only supplement you need to use is fish body oil if you can’t get pasture raised meats.
The general guide is to either feed 15-25% of the dog’s body weight a week or 2-3% a day. I would start your lab on about 2.5 lbs and the mix on about 1.25 (this is about 2.5%) adjust these amounts up or down based on the appearance of your dogs.

I’m doing a project where I need a recipe from Somalia that has some sort of meaning. I found that during Somalian weddings, xalwo is made. This sounds really good (verryyyy sweet) and I think my class would really enjoy eating this. However, I haven’t been able to find a recipe for this anywhere on google. If you have the recipe for xalwo or xalwad (same thing?) or if you have another important food recipe in Somalia, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Salaam.
Somali xalwa (halwa) doesn’t have the corn flour ingredient. I don’t know where the sister got that from. Xalwo is made from:
1. Sugar
2. Water
3. Corn starch (that is what makes it thick)
4. Food Colouring
5. Oil/Ghee (Made from unsalted butter)
6. Hayl and nutmeg (Joos)
7. Nuts or sesame seeds (Optional)
I have a 12 month old boxer and have been feeding him a quality food called Bil Jac very expensive food!! He used to love it but lately he has not been wanting to eat it and his gas has gotten extremely worse boxers have gas anyways but its gotten bad!! So im thinking of switching him to the food called Natures Recipe still a quality food and a little less pricey and wondering if anyone know anything about this food?
First, any time a dog goes through a change like that it is time to see a vet.
Second, Bil Jac is not a good dog food.
Chicken By-Products (Organs Only including chicken liver), Chicken, Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Brewers Dried Yeast, Cane Molasses, Egg Product, Salt, Sodium Propionate (a preservative), DL-Methionine, L-Lysine, Vitamin A Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin, Biotin, Choline Chloride, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Menaione, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Manganous Oxide, Inositol, BHA (a preservative), Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Cobalt Carbonate, Potassium Iodine, Sodium Selenite.
It has by products as a first ingredient and that should not be there at all. Corn should not be there at all. Of the first 3 ingredients 2 of them should not be in a dog food.
Natures Recipe is not the worst food, but certainly no amoung the top brands.
Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. "Vet approved" means they have a vet on staff to approve their product. In other words, someone paid to approve it. Same with foods most vets recommend. Salesmen "gift" vets then the vet recommends the food. Most vets are not nutritionasts! Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. Wellness, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Boxers are deep chested dogs which are prone to bloat. I do hope you are not feeding him only once a day. Divide his feeding into 2 or 3 times a day.
My dog has allergies. Tried other vet recommended things with no success. Now I want to make my dog’s food myself to see if that can help. I need a healthy recipe for dogs that is gluten and grain free. One that is good for dogs with allergies, and well balanced.
You could try feeding raw if the thought of raw animal carcasses don’t put you off. It is much cheaper than feeding commerical dog food and you know exactly what the dog is getting. Hopefully somebody will provide some links.
