Is it safe for a 1 year old Dotson puppy only to eat cat food and canned tuna?

Posted by admin on November 4th, 2009 and filed under food only | 10 Comments »

My boyfriend has this 1 year old Dotson and he only feeds him cat food and canned tuna when he is out of food. I told him I think it is bad for the dog but he won’t listen to me. So I need some input from other people so he will believe me, and change his ways.

Cat food ironic has it sounds has a high level of meat which is bad
for dogs.The tuna is alright.

How do I eat or cook food if I rent only a room?

Im planning to rent a room - just a room and sharing bathroom and everything else. and this is the first time im moving out on my own, but do i have to buy my own food? and cook my own food? or do i have to share and cook together?

You are responsible for feeding yourself - buying food, cooking it, cleaning up after yourself, everything - unless you’re in a boarding house, where you might get some meals at the house as part of your rent.

What’s a food that you can only get in Rhode Island?

Someone very special is coming to Rhode Island tomorrow, and he is asking for some food suggestions, something he couldn’t get anywhere but Rhode Island. What is a food he can only get in Rhode Island?

they put vinegar on fries not ketchup. you can get elsewhere but a ri tradition. del’s lemonade, it started there. lobsters are plentiful, thus cheap this year. go down to where the ferry leaves for block island. the lobster boats come in there and you can pick your own.

Why are salt and pepper the only seasonings people put on their food after it’s been cooked?

Posted by admin on October 24th, 2009 and filed under food only | 10 Comments »

People put all types of seasonings in their food BEFORE it is cooked, but the only thing they add AFTER the food has been cooked is salt and/or pepper. You don’t hear anyone asking for garlic powder, paprika, rosemary, etc. at the dinner table.

A lot of spices need to be "cooked" otherwise they impart a "raw" taste, adding heat to spices releases their oils and their flavor. S&P dont need to be heat to enhance the flavors of food.

Things people add after cooking like mustard, ketchup, mayo, vinegar, soy sauce, chili sauce…. are all condiments & sauces, NOT spices.

Is it ok that my ferret only eats dry ferret food?

Posted by admin on October 22nd, 2009 and filed under food only | 4 Comments »

I have tried feeding her other things including chicken(which I have read most ferrets love) but she does not seem to want to eat anything other than the dry food. I was wondering if it’s bad for her to only be eating this or should a complete dry food diet be enough. I am currently feeding her 8in1 Ultra Blend Select.

If it has 32-40% protein and 18-20% fat it should be fine but try to throw in some variety.

Is the cat’s diarrhea caused by dry food only or is it stress?

Posted by admin on October 16th, 2009 and filed under food only | 14 Comments »

My friend has two cats. When he is around he gives them some meals of canned food and some meals of dry food. For a test run, he bought an automatic feeder and had it give them dry food only for a day or two. Seemed to work OK. Then he was gone for a night or two and when he came back the cats had diarrhea. What is the likely cause? Do you think the problem is that they are getting only the dry food and no canned? Or do you think they are eating too much food? Or are they just stressed because he was gone?
Oh yeah - I forgot to mention that they are indoor cats so it is unlikely that they are eating something foreign.
The dry food is an expensive brand.

So it could be the food it could be the stress and it could also be the combo of both. Tell your friend that the cats should be on a low magniesuim low sulfur dry cat food. This helps reduce the risk of the cats getting a urinary tact infection and crystals forming in the bladder.
Also stay away from buying friskies cat food. This is a bad cat food and this help to cause the infection that my cat had
