Free ipod touch without offers or referrels?

Posted by admin on November 28th, 2009 and filed under free offers | 4 Comments »

I have looked everywhere, and I have found a few legit sites offering a free ipod touch, but getting refferals takes wayyyy too long. Is there a website that offers a free ipod touch with work BESIDES refferalls and doing offers? Anything?

Unfortunately, there is no way to an ipod without a credit card. The companies that give those rewards need to make money somehow. For people without credit cards, I tell them to go to YouTube and search for terms like "Free Ipod", "NBC", and "CNN". There are news reports on there that prove companies like TRAINN are legit. Show a family member the video and see if they’ll let you borrow their card. Maybe then they would feel more comfortable letting you put $10 or so for an offer.

The best way is to sign up for a rewards site, but do some research on them before you do. I was skeptical, especially since my credit card number would be out there, but TRAINN is a very reputable website and has been covered by CNN and NBC as legit. Yes, some of those reward-style sites are legit. Here’s the short version of how companies give away "free" stuff. The companies who offer trials pay the company for each offer someone from their site completes. So, when someone does Netflix, Netflix then pays that website money for the referral. The money made more than covers the cost of whatever reward you select. Don’t think the companies are being nice, they are making quite a bit of cash from these deals.

Websites will send things like game systems and iPods as rewards. That is true, but what is misleading is the whole "free" aspect. No, it’s not 100% free. They couldn’t make money if it were. When you sign up, you agree to complete one offer to activate your account. Offers are around $10 on average. From there, you have to find family and friends to be referrals for other offers so you can have them count towards your prize.

Also, beware of people (lots of them around here) that claim they have "hacked" versions of the rewards sites that require no credit card from you. What they give you is a link with their referral number, so you go do an offer thinking you’ll get a reward and, shockingly, nothing happens for you. However, their reward just got closer thanks to your referral!

The bottom line is you need to research the sites and determine which is the best site for your needs. Personally, I use sites under TRAINN’s umbrella as they seem the easiest to deal with. There are some good groups on Facebook that are made up of users of those sites. A good one in particular is a group called "Shortest TRAINN Conga Line" on Facebook. They offer advice and answers about how the sites work and tactics to get stuff quickly. You can also get in the Conga Line for easy referrals

how do i get wild birds to stop eating my dogs’ food?

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2009 and filed under food get | 8 Comments »

birds come in a group of 2 or 3 and they take eat my dogs food and this happens frequently, and its not the same birds its alot of them that watch and make sure my dogs not around his bowl and they eat the food and im not always there to scare the birds away
and i cant just leave the bowl inside because im not home from 8am till about 10 pm he needs too eat

Don’t leave the bowl out. Dogs shouldn’t be free-fed in any case for both digestive reasons and behavioral reasons, they should be given regularly scheduled meals. Put food in the bowl, put it down for him for 20 minutes, and pick it up at the end of that time whether its empty or not.

Money and food question: What foods are cost effective to purchase with only 80.00 for the week?

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2009 and filed under food only | 9 Comments »

What food items are economical to buy and have good staying power? Particularly for a mom and 12 yr old son. This is hopefully the last time I intend to be in this difficult situation again!

Awww. So sorry to hear about your situation :(
Financial crisis are all around right now, which is devastating.
I would say get some: Almond Butter and Jelly (Since Peanut butter is on recall), and a large loaf of bread….this keeps kids happy and its healthy.
Buy some veggies from the freezer section. They are cheaper and they will last longer.
Purchase some spaggetti noodles, and sauce. This is usually 1$ for the noodles and the sauce is no more than 1.50$….
You can also, do canned fruit which is inexpensive about 1$ per can.
Get some Top Ramen Oriental noodles, which is a quick fix (just in case you run out of food, a big box of these at Winco, or Walmart will usually be no more than 3$ and you will have 24 packs) This is cheap, and will fill in the gaps.
Get a large bag of potatoes because you can do a lot with them (e.g. home fries, baked potatoes)
And get a couple gallons of water.
This should do for a week. Sorry to hear about this again, but to be honest,
I am a vegetarian, and I have tough times too, I will tell you, not purchasing the meat can save you a LOT of money…so avoid that for the time being, and ….the only reason why I told you to get canned fruits, and frozen veggies, are because they will stretch, they have good "shelf life", and are more cost effective than fresh fruits and veggies….

God Bless :)

How much canned food should I give my kitten?

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2009 and filed under food | 7 Comments »

We just got a 9 week old kitten. We keep science diet (dry) food out for him as well as water all the time. He wasn’t eating it so I started giving him the canned food, which he seems to love. How much should I give him a day? A full can (for kittens)? I’ve been feeding him when he seems hungry, 2-3 times a day.

Figuring how to feed a cat depends on the age, activity level and health status of your cat. I will address your concern by giving you advise base on the assumption that your cat is generally healthy and have no special dietary or medical needs.

If you have been feeding your cat dry food around the clock with a food dispenser, the first thing to do is to stop slowly. Kibble addict resist changes and it’s not a good way to cut them off dry immediately. They are used to the smell of dry kibble - where food manufacturer trick their senses with addictive coating to entice them to eat. Also, your cat is used to the crunchy texture of dry kibbles and will resist eating wet.

What you need to do is a gradual transition - introduce her to wet food slowly. Start off with a mixture of what she is eating now and mix it with the wet food.

If your cats eat both wet and dry, you can eliminate the dry almost immediately. On the other hand, if they are kibble addicts, you need to go slow. Feed more times, less quantity because kibble addicts are used to having food around 24/7 (if you free fed).

A normal healthy and active kittens needs double the amount what a normal adult would eat. And that would mean feeding at least 3 cans of 3oz can food or better yet, 4 cans, if your kittens are very active. For kibble addicts, you need to upped the number of feedings at the beginning but each time, serve only a smaller portion. Since they are used to eating all the time, you can try feeding them up to 6 times a day. This is just a very extreme recommendation because once your cat has established a wet food appetite, you can greatly reduced the number of feeding and increase the quantity.

Once you got your cat to eating wet food, you can now feed either 2-3 times a day. Always monitor your cat’s reaction to the food. If after four weeks or so, you find that your cat seems to have grown a little more chubbier, reduce and the opposite is correct if she seems to be hungry at all times.

Sometimes, when switching to all wet using scheduled and portion control feeding method cat owners feel bad when they see their cats begging for more food. Resist the temptation to give in. Cats can very well go a few long hours without eating. Stick to your routine. But never starve a cat into eating.

The decision to switch to wet food is the correct one and I am glad that you have taken a step forward in ensuring your cat gets all the proper nutrition and species appropriate food.
